Advanced Open Water Diver

What is The Advanced Open Water Course

ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Advanced Open Water Diver course is a step beyond the basic Open Water Diver certification and is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of certified divers.
It is often the next logical step for individuals who have completed their Open Water Diver certification and want to gain more experience and confidence in various aspects of scuba diving. The course includes a series of "Adventure Dives," each focusing on a specific aspect of scuba diving. These adventure dives allow participants to explore different areas of interest and gain hands-on experience in various underwater activities. One of the required Adventure Dives is typically a deep dive, where participants learn about the considerations and techniques for diving to depths beyond those covered in the Open Water Diver course. The maximum depth for recreational diving is often 30 meters (100 feet), Another common Adventure Dive is a navigation dive, where participants hone their underwater navigation skills. This may include using a compass, natural navigation techniques, and underwater mapping. In addition to the deep and navigation dives, participants typically choose three more Adventure Dives based on their interests and the offerings of the dive center. Common options include underwater photography, drift diving, fish identification, peak performance buoyancy, and more.
