Key components of the Emergency First Response program include
1- Primary Care (CPR): This covers the steps and techniques for
providing CPR to individuals in cardiac arrest. It includes chest
compressions and rescue breaths.
2- Secondary Care (First Aid): This focuses on assessing and
providing first aid for various injuries and illnesses. It includes
topics such as bandaging, splinting, and managing shock.
3- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training: Participants learn
how to use an AED, a device that can deliver an electric shock to
the heart to restore a normal rhythm in case of cardiac arrest.
4- Care for Children: Some EFR courses include specific training for
providing emergency care to infants and children.
